FlipQuiz is Shutting Down.

For financial reasons, it has unfortunately become impossible to continue supporting FlipQuiz and the FlipQuiz community. Thank you for your support the last 5 years! God bless you all.

FlipQuiz will officially shut down at the end of August (August 31, 2019). For recommendations on other classroom tools, check out this article from @TeacherToolkit.

PRO MEMBERS: Your subscription will automatically be cancelled between now and August 31st. If you signed up for PRO yearly after March 1, 2019, your payment will be refunded automatically between now and August 31st.

Getting Started

First, let’s take a quick look at the dashboard and see what your options are. Then we’ll show you how to get started with your first board and where to go from there!

The Dashboard

The dashboard is your base of operations. You can get back to this page by clicking any of the links around the site that say “My Boards” (hint: there’s one in the menu right under the logo).

From here, you can create new boards, search for others’ boards, view and edit your profile, and see any boards you’ve “liked”.

Let’s quickly click on “Create a Quiz Board” and see what we get….

Create a New Board

First things first, give your board a title. This will help you (and others) find it later and distinguish it from the others.

* Note: as a FlipQuiz PRO member, you have the ability to hide your board from prying eyes. For more info, check out the PRO Benefits Page.

Once you’re happy with your board’s title, click that “Save and Continue” button! This will create your board and allow you to save frequently as you add more questions or edit your content.

After you save, the page will reload and you can begin adding questions and answers, but don’t forget to “Quick Save” and “Preview” often to make sure it’s all working!

Add Questions and Answers

As you can see above, you have a few more options. Let’s take a look at what they all are:

  1. Title – you set this already before you saved. You can change it, but there’s not much else to do here otherwise.
  2. Category Titles – tab through the light orange bar to switch categories, but set a category name in the dark orange bar. Add up to 6 categories and we’ll hide any that don’t have questions.
  3. Quick Save – this is an important one! Hit this button periodically to save your place. We won’t reload the page, but your questions will still be saved.
  4. Save and Finish – when you’re done, give this one a final push. This will save any last changes and send you to your board’s overview page.
  5. Preview Window – there’s just something about seeing your progress… Hit the “Preview” button to pop up a preview of your game. We’ll update this whenever you hit the “Quick Save” button, too.

At this point, you have a new board! Choose the “Play” button where you see it next to your board’s title to get playing!
